New life
Translated from the original Chinese. Original version
In this entry
Thanksgiving is approaching, and life is almost absurdly leisurely. The nights lately have been so peaceful that they’re intoxicating. Last night, the glow of the streetlights lit the gently falling rain. A haze of moisture hung over the grass, and raindrops settled on the bare branches like pearls covering the trees.
Some extraordinary things have left me immersed in a dizzying happiness. In the half-waking haze of early morning, I felt a joy that almost brought me to tears. I have, in fact, already entered a new way of life. I need to learn some new things: courage, honesty, and responsibility, for instance. I think I can do this well.
